From the creators of the Oscar-winning short “Harvey Krumpet”, “Mary and Max” is the claymation tale of pen pals whose friendship spans 20 years and 2 continents. Mary (Toni Collette) is a lonely 8-year-old in the suburbs of Melbourne. Struggling with questions that no one can answer, she writes to Max (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), an obese 44-year-old Jewish man with Asperger’s Syndrome living in New York City. Over time the two form a bond that explores the profound and often dark themes of friendship, difference, trust, fear, and life’s many surprises.
